Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children - Ransom Riggs

I really fell hard for the first third of this book, kind of lost interest towards the middle, and then felt the action towards the end was like a big, drawn-out, Hollywood action sequence. The actual VERY end was nice, and I'm looking forward to the next book. I think I might have enjoyed this more if A) the pacing in the middle weren't so slow, and B) I wasn't so busy at the time I read it & could have zoomed through it in a day or two. As it was, I ended up reading over the course of a couple of weeks & my interest really waned.

I do love Riggs' originality, his excellent writing, and his characterization of the main characters. His incorporation of the unusual photographs is creeptactularly awesome.
