leaning on the side of wonder

The Perks of Being a Wallflower - Stephen Chbosky I feel like I'd have liked this book more if I'd been able to read it in the space of a few days rather than over 6 weeks. Charlie grated on me, yet I was fond of him. Idk. About halfway through reading the book, I saw the movie - and IT was excellent. Only bc the author himself wrote & directed the film - and bc of the talented actors playing Charlie & Patrick - was I able to then finish the book. Parts of the book that fell flat (esp Charlie's childlike tone) came alive in the movie. it made Going back & finishing the book much more palatable. It's a good read. Not great, IMO, but worth the time.
